Survivorship of NZ Cockle (Austrovenus stutchburyi) to experimental hypoxia and warming ocean temperatures (NSC 4.1.1 (18))

Creator: Nichola Salmond
Subject: Keywords: Sustainable Seas, Hypoxia, Austrovenus, ocean warming
Description: Daily survivorship, siphon activity, dissolved oxygen and water temperature values for laboratory experiments exposing cockles (Austrovenus stutchburyi) collected from Waitati Inlet, Otago to flow-through low oxygen (10-20% dissolved oxygen) high water temperatures (22 & 25oC) conditions aiming to represent present and future ocean/estuarine temperatures. Data can be used to begin to determine thresholds and potential tipping points for cockles exposed to these environmental conditions due to possible macroalgal blooms and heatwaves/warming ocean temperatures.
