Description: A dataset from a national experiment that explored the effects of multiple stressors on seafloor ecosystem function. The experiment aimed to understand how cumulative effects lead to tipping points in coastal ecosystems through changes to the ecosystem interaction networks. The dataset comprises data collected during a 7-month experiment conducted at 24 intertidal soft-sediment sites across 15 estuaries in New Zealand. The dataset comprises the following data for each site: - Photosynthetically active radiation collected continuously for 7 months (Mar-Nov 2017) - Temperature collected continuously for 7 months (Mar-Nov 2017) - Sediment-water fluxes of nitrogen and oxygen over 4 hour in Nov 2017 - Sediment properties measured in Nov 2017 - Macrofaunal community measured in Nov 2017 - The dataset also contains photos and notes characterising the sites over 7 months (Sustainable Seas project 4.2.1 Tipping points in ecosystem structure, function and services)
