Description: Depth, temperature, salinity, Chlorophyll a fluorescence data from water column surveys collected up to 12 locations in Pelorus Sound and fortnightly to monthly intervals (17 occasions) along a transect (7 stations) in Nydia Bay to document water column conditions during blooms of the toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium pacificum. CTD cats were carried out through the entire water column at most sites with a Seabird SBE19 Plus instrument. These ancillary data were collected in the course of sampling to trial qPCR assays for harmful phytoplankton species Under the Sustainable Seas Innovation funded project "Innovative technologies for the early detection of Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) threats" (C01X1515) (Sustainable Seas project number IF2.2.2.5)
